simplegeek notes a very basic truth that many people seem to ignore.
Software costs time, money, and resources to produce. The more you skip the initial phases of design, the more you have to pay later. I find this idea to be so simple, and yet so ignored by many managers.
Duh.
I entered management in 1997 because I was tired of working for id10ts who didn’t know how to build software. There were exceptions, of course, but the broad consensus of the industry seemed to be "think? why should we let our people think? make them work harder! more hours!"
